Assistant Teacher

Description:

In addition to providing a secure, comfortable and nurturing environment, all candidates must believe that children learn through play. They should be able to engage them in activities and encourage children to be independent and set good examples for children to follow.
Experience in an Early Childhood Program is a plus but not necessary.
Great working atmosphere.
Hours are 7:00am - 12pm Monday through Friday
We do not follow a school calendar.
Job Types: Part-time 
Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour (can be discussed)

Responsibilities:

Providing a secure, comfortable and nurturing environment, all candidates must believe that children learn through play. They should be able to engage them in activities and encourage children to be independent and set good examples for children to follow. 

• Responsible for creating a warm and accepting environment
• Help preparation of program materials; requisition of supplies needed.
• Help with teaching materials to fit the program’s needs
• Help guide the children in developing motor coordination, verbal communication, health and safety habits, language skills
• Recognizing that each child is a sensitive, thinking individual and treating him accordingly.
• Responsible for getting the children involved with the materials
• Foster children’s curiosity and develop problem solving skills
• Diaper changing, basic cleaning throughout the day
