Preschool Teaching Assistant

Description:

We have 1-2 part-time Teaching Assistant positions. If working with a small group of two-year-olds is your idea of fun, there is a 5 mornings position which can be extended to help cover lunches. If you like working with 4 year-olds, we have a M/W/F STEAM Enrichment afternoon class which needs an assistant. Lunch duty can also be added to that position to make a 5 hour day. The two positions can be combined into a 5 mornings and 3 afternoons. We are a NYS OCFS licensed child care, but run like a preschool with set classes and a public school calendar. Holidays and vacation weeks are a paid benefit. Summer camp work is available if you like to work year round. 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include: keeping all the children in your care safe throughout the day. Also, preparing daily activities, snack and assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the classroom. Engaging with the children to improve their understanding of the activities they will engage in. Sing, dance, assist with art projects, build with blocks, model appropriate behaviors and assist children with taking turns and other challenges. Helping students with toileting and diaper changes is necessary and therefore lifting and carrying the weight of a child is required.
