Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play‑based lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports each child’s learning style and developmental needs.
- Supervise children at all times and ensure their safety, well‑being, and engagement.
- Support children’s social‑emotional development through modeling, guidance, and positive behavior strategies.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and required documentation.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families about children’s progress and daily experiences.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to ensure smooth classroom operations.
- Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as required.
- Follow all program policies, licensing regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field (as required by licensing).
- NYS Teaching Certification (Birth–2) preferred, if applicable.
- Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a nurturing, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
