The professional working with young children helps connect families with needed resources and services
Behaviors & Skills

Implements creative ways to provide families with support and information (i.e., electronic newsletters, informational meetings, bulletin boards)

Empowers families, helping them to access needed resources such as other professionals, community resources, government services, and community activities for themselves

Provides opportunities for family-to-family gatherings and events

Helps families take advantage of parent education and training opportunities in the program and outside of the program
e
Encourages families to identify informal supports like shared babysitting, phone trees, etc.

When applicable, helps families understand the special education referral and evaluation processes
